Based on the popular manga, Crying Freeman is a violent yet sexy thriller. Telling the story of a man unwilling sucked into the world of organized crime, it follows the adventures of Yoh, the Crying Freeman, called that because of the tears that flow from his eyes after he kills.
Though the images are not as iconic as the manga artistry, the anime does a good job of capturing the look and feel. Unfortunately, the story is highly compressed, with the first 30 minute episode covering all the action the manga took over 200 pages to tell.
All in all, Crying Freeman is a great choice for action fans looking for John Woo like battle scenes and plenty of skin.
